In 2018, Michele was invited to join the prestigious University of Utah School of Dance as guest artist and visiting professor.

The School of Dance is home to the disciplines of ballet and modern dance, which each have long traditions of excellence and prominence in Utah and across the world. For a semester, Michele worked with eight dancers handpicked from the school. She developed a program of new choreography and existing BalletNext repertory, which they performed at New York Live Arts in February 2019.

The program also featured guest appearances by internationally celebrated dancers Amar Ramasar and Maria Kowroski in Bachground by Mauro Bigonzetti, set to Bach’s Solo Piano - performed by pianist Dr. Vedrana Subotic, the university’s associate professor of music.

Michele’s time in Utah was the catalyst for her moving BalletNext full-time from New York to the mountains of Park City in 2019.
