Solo Strings by BalletNEXT: A Mixed Repertory Program

BalletNEXT is excited to bring a one night only of original works from the choreographers of today to the Santy Auditorium. This collection of contemporary choreography is inspired by the music created for solo cello, guitar, and harp. Michele Wiles , artistic director of BalletNEXT will have TWO world premieres on the program. The evening will also include a special Park City debut of "Different Homes" by Brian Reeder. Kaitlin Findlay of String Fx will be playing some of greatest music created for solo cello by Benjamin Britten. This work was debuted in New York City at NY live Arts in 2013 with critical acclaim by The New York Times.

"“Different Homes,” a New York debut, was the most tenuous. It’s a duet of connection and disconnection for Ms. Wiles and Jens Weber. They join at the neck, elbow and wrist; their forearms entwine; and their bodies clamp together. But their palms do not touch." - New York Times coverage of "Different Homes"

This one hour program will be danced by the BalletNEXT dancers accompanied by three outstanding live string soloists. We invite the audience to please enjoy a question and answer session afterwards with the entire cast of BalletNEXT dancers and musicians

Anyone who supports BalletNEXT with a donation of $100 or higher will receive access to premium seats in a reserved section and an invitation to a post-show reception with opportunities to meet the Company.
